Privacy
Your family’s information should be treated with care. Our Home Nest helps families organise everyday life in one shared space. This Privacy Notice explains what information we use, why we use it, how it is protected, and the choices available to you.
Last updated: September 2026
Our Home Nest is a family organisation service available at ourhomenest.com. Throughout this notice we refer to the service as Our Home Nest.
For any privacy question or request, contact ourhomenest@hotmail.com.
What we hold about your family depends on which features you choose to use.
Your email address, authentication and account identifiers, and the other information necessary to create and operate your account.
Your household name; each family profile’s name, Owner/Co-owner/Adult/Child role, colour and theme, a profile picture where one is uploaded, and permissions and preferences set for that profile.
Information your family chooses to put into Calendar, Jobs, Routines, Meals, Lists, Rewards, Reward Goals, Reminders, and Family Activity.
Check-in activity, points, reward/redemption records, and related progress information.
Pairing records, which profile a paired device is authorised for, and the technical/security information needed to operate that paired access.
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. Where a family voluntarily connects it, we use the connection information needed for the integration and read the calendar/event information the existing read-only feature displays. We do not request permission to create, edit, or delete anything in your Google Calendar.
Where Plus billing is used: subscription status, the selected billing plan, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored directly by Our Home Nest.
Before public launch, our homepage briefly offered a “register your interest” form that collected an email address and consent to receive launch updates. That form is no longer shown on our public homepage, and we are not currently collecting new entries this way. If any historical entries remain, you can ask us to remove yours at any time using the privacy contact above.
This may include IP address, browser/device information, session and authentication information, timestamps, and security, error or operational information reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service. We do not use this information for advertising profiling or location tracking.
Some Our Home Nest information may be shared with the whole household, private to one family profile, or shared only with selected family profiles. Access is controlled according to the permissions and sharing choices applied inside the app — an Owner or Co-owner does not automatically gain access to another profile’s personal or selectively shared information.
Our Home Nest is designed for family use, and a household may include Child profiles. A Child profile is not, by itself, a separate full Our Home Nest account. An authorised adult may create and manage information associated with a Child profile, such as their name, profile picture, jobs, routines, calendar information, rewards, and family activity. A Family Device may allow a child to use the features available to their authorised profile, and we aim to restrict information and features according to the permissions associated with that profile. Our Home Nest does not currently operate age verification or formal parental-consent verification.
We may use information to:
Our Home Nest does not sell your personal information.
This section is a plain-language summary, not a final legal assessment.
Where applicable, performance of a contract, or steps requested by the account holder before entering one.
Legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable service, preventing abuse, maintaining security, and diagnosing problems.
Legal obligation, where applicable.
For optional activities that genuinely rely on it — for example, any historical launch-updates list entry, which only ever resulted from you explicitly opting in.
We use the following service providers, who may process information where necessary to provide their services to Our Home Nest. They do not own your family’s information.
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, appropriate safeguards should be used.
Generally kept while your account or household remains active, and for only as long afterwards as reasonably necessary for technical, security or legal purposes.
You can request deletion of your account at any time using the existing account-deletion feature in Settings, subject to its applicable household/deletion conditions. Deleting your account does not guarantee immediate erasure from every backup or service provider.
Some information may need to be retained where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, or other legal obligations.
May be retained for as long as reasonably required for those purposes.
Our Home Nest currently uses only strictly necessary cookies: to keep you signed in and to remember which family profile is selected. We do not currently use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any similar tracking technology.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including authentication, profile and household permissions, database row-level access controls where applicable, server-side handling of secrets, private and selectively-shared list permissions, and HTTPS in production. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent — including a right to object where we rely on legitimate interests. To make a request, use the privacy contact at the top of this notice.
If you are in the UK and unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Our Home Nest may update this Privacy Notice as the service develops. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and bring significant changes to your attention where appropriate.
This notice does not claim to satisfy every formal data-protection controller-identity requirement. Now that Our Home Nest has moved to public launch, its formal legal-controller identity — and the terms that apply to a public, paid service — should be reviewed and, where needed, added to this notice.
